Congratulations to the latest #ShareYourShutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters features two rooms in her home decked out with stylish new Polywood plantation shutters that beautifully accentuate both her home’s architecture and her own personal style.
Chelsey, who goes by Taste of Coffey on Instagram, is a Boston-based home designer with a penchant for stylish color schemes. A quick look at her space shows how she intersperses both neutral and brighter tones for a look that’s cozy and natural, but fashionable all at the same time.
She even offered some advice for homeowners in Miami and beyond:
-
Always have a color scheme. When you go about decorating a room, you can always adjust colors to customize it. Try to utilize tones either from your interior color pallet or ones that can complement it.
-
Be adaptable in how you use colors. We use shutters that are vibrant white and most of our furniture includes shades of gray, both weathered wood and fabric. So we chose to mix in pops of color and white accents.
Not only does Chelsey excel at using colors in her design, but her use of space in her house is just as good. From the placement of her chairs that lead the eyes right up to the wall and her plantation shutters, to the evenly-spaced accessories in her shelving, Chelsey’s house is modern, practical, and extremely cozy without ever looking overdecorated.
As our #ShareYourShutters winner this season, we’ll send Chelsey a gift card to a Boston-area restaurant, in addition to featuring her designs here. To see her entire body of work, visit her design site at TasteofCoffey.com.
And if you think your new shutters look beautiful enough to be our next winner, share them on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters. We want to see another Miami home to take next season’s prize!
